Matt's Story and Pictures

As with Angel his brother, Matt came in with no name and he had been living in a dirt pen for his whole 8-10 month life. These non caring people were not even sure of his age or sex. They had not bothered to name him. He was infested with both fleas and ticks. His coat was hard knots to the skin. Oh, but he was so happy to see a person! He is a very loving sweet boy. His name is now Matt because of all the mats he had when he came.
When I picked Matt up, he went limp as a rag. He was not used to the touch of a human hand. He is a very passive boy. We went straight to Midway Veterinary Hospital in Somerset Ky to be checked out. Dr. Patti Prather patiently, gently and thoroughly checked him out, did appropriate blood work, administered flea and tick meds, gave him all his shots, cleaned his ears and had him stay for his neuter which she performed the following morning. He was still a mess on the outside though. He was a very co-operative patient and won hearts even though he looked like a train wreck!

Before showing Matt's final condition, I'd like to acknowledge our wonderful vets at Midway Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Bruce Jasper and all the vets there have given of their time, even at night and on Sundays to help us to care for our rescues. They manage to put up with me when I am worried and at my worst and still do it with a smile and a word of encouragement. These caring vets do their best to see that the rescues we bring to them as such a mess come to you the adoptive family as healthy as they can be made. Without the kind and loving care, and the help of the vets and the staff at Midway Veterinary Hospital we could not save these wonderful dogs. I'd like to publicly thank you each and every one for all your wonderful work.
Are you ready to meet Matt?
