| Foster Moms and Dads needed. When we accept a dog into our rescue that dog will need to be taken to a vet, socialized and learn to trust again. It takes a special person to do this job. | We are currently in desperate need of foster homes in the Pulaski county and surrounding areas. Below is the required duties of a foster home. A foster home family will fill out an application to foster and will sign a foster agreement. SBRKY will pay for any vet care needed by our dogs but the foster parent must use our approved vet for the vet visit. The foster home will provide for food and grooming of the foster dog while in their care. We ask only that the dogs be housed inside the foster home and that the family helps the dog to learn how to be a proper house dog. These means that sometimes these dogs are not house trained when they arrive. The foster home will provide updates to our site about the dog they are fostering and will join the Yahoo group for SBRKY to do this. They will maintain contact with the president of SBRKY and obtain approval before making vet appointments for the dog. A foster home will be considered first in all adoptions. Sometimes we do become very attached to these little guys and the appropriate adoption fee still applies. A foster home will work with the rescue volunteers to present dogs for inspection by prospective adopters and will supply any information they can about the fosters to prospective adopters and the rescue group in general. We all work in co-operation to place these wonderful dogs in loving and forever homes. A foster home member can not approve an adoption but must refer the individual involved to the site at www.sbrky.com for any applications needed. Everyone who works with SBRKY is a precious volunteer and no one is paid for any volunteer work they do for the rescue. |
