Happy Tails
Our Small Breed Rescues in their new homes....
Bailey
Bailey was adopted by Board member Barbara (Bonnie)
Bushnoe of Pepperell MA just before Christmas of 2005.
She flew in to Louisville KY. to pick up her new baby girl.
We met at the Breckenridge Hotel and as you can see all
were happy to be there. Bonnie calls her Miss Pearl Bailey
and it was love at first sight for Miss Pearl Bailey too! Miss
Pearl Bailey is joining several siblings in her Ma home and
she has a pet nanny for when mom is at work. She is a
very much loved and spoiled little girl.
God Speed Bailey...we all love and miss you!

Jeffrey
Jeffrey also made the trip to Louisville the same day as our
Miss Bailey. He met his new mama, Donna Devnoe at the
Brekenridge as well. He was real quick to make himself at
home with his new mama. Jeffrey joins Donna and her family
of three Poms in North Chelmsford also in MA. Donna is at
home all day with her furkids and now calls him Sir Jeffrey
since she says he is such a little gentleman. Here is wishing
you many happy and healthy years together Donna and
Jeffrey!

Prince
Here are some pictures of Prince in his new home with his
new mama. He is very happy there. He sleeps in his own
bed at the foot of their bed. He is well mannered and not
shy with them at all after only a couple of hours with them.
They are wonderful loving people. He will be an only
beloved boy. He loves to be the center of attention!
He has 5 acres to run and play in on a gated property. He
is is doggie paradise with his new family. I spent about an
hour with him and his family and they are fantastic with
him. He was of course glad to see me and Casey who
went with us and once the excitement was calmed down
we had a wonderful visit.
Hope you enjoy the pictures. I did try to get a picture of
their sign with the home's name on it but it did not show
up well in this rain. :o(
Sissy was adopted by Marian and now lives in Ky.
She is blind in one eye from a cataract but she is very
happy in her new forever home.

He is the sweetest little dog – so loving to everyone and you are right–he is very smart. He seems to love his new home and he likes Dixie. He has a king size pillow with his own blue pillow case on it and he slept right beside my bed the first night – not one peep. He rides on my lap in the car and the only “peep” I have heard from him was when I accidentally stepped on his foot. Everyone just loves him and he has settled right in. We are however working on house training. He has marked his territory a couple of times, but I just use white vinegar and water and then a carpet cleaner. Not a big problem. He is behind a gate until I can trust him when I am gone, but he has his bed, toys, water, food and a TT pad. Have you ever heard him bark? He does not like to take medicine. I took him to the new vet I told you about and he checked him out. He weighs 12 lbs If he has gained – I am sure he was skin and bones. I have him on Science Diet puppy food and he is doing fine. He was concerned the way he sits down and may x-ray him when I get his teeth cleaned in a couple of weeks.
I love him…

Sharon Hammond and her hubby came and picked up Faith in Somerset Ky
on May 6, 2006. Faith is the tiniest of Nellie's puppies. Faith is the tiniest but
has the greatest and bravest spirit of the three pups. She will be living in Ohio
with her new family and is an only child. She will be a world traveler with her
mama and papa as they visit places like Aruba together. Faith's mama had
just come back from there when they came to pick her up. She now a very
spoiled little princess. God Speed little Faith!
Reve is the largest of Nellie's puppies. His new mama renamed him Chase.
He will be living in Louisville Ky with his new mama and one brother Shih Tzu.
His aunt traveled down with his mama and her was joyful and both ladies fell in
love with this handsome baby boy. Chase tends to try to be the boss but will
quickly give up the position to his mama just cause he loves her. I hope she
keeps a firm hold on this boys heart and he will do anything for her.
Sassy Shih Tzu is the third of Nellie's puppies. She is as stunning as is her
sister. Judy Leathers met with Jodie Sprague in IN to pick up her baby girl.
Sassy was originally called Hope, but I think she looks like a "Sassy" too. This
little girl will be living in Louisville Ky too. What a lovely spoiled little princess
she makes!
Small Breed Rescue adopts out of state but you must come to pick up
your new baby.
Eva was born to the second of the pregnant mill pups brought in
pregnant, LaRue now called Beauty. She is the surviving pup and sister
to our Adam who is at the Bridge. She will be living in Liberty Ky with her
new family who spoils her rotten. Seems like they all do! She poses like
a statue and plays until she drops in her new home. She loves everyone
and give the sweetest little puppy kisses ...Ah.......those puppy kisses!
Little Eva seems to make up for the loss of her brother by living enough
and enjoying it enough for two. God Speed little Eva and we hope to
have lots of updates from your new family as you grown and experience
life!

Sachmo now lives with Tondra Bowers his new mama in Hendersonville NC.
She came and picked up her baby boy and he just flew into her arms. This is
always a very good sign. We hope to get updates on this sweet boy soon. He is
going to go to Michigan with his mama where he will meet her brother who is a
cancer patient and Sachmo will bring his own brand of joy and comfort to this
beloved brother to Tondra. Tondra is going to help take care of her brother for a
while. God speed little man, you are missed very much by your foster mom,
Bobbie
Bethany, now Maggie makes her home in Michigan. She was the first
adoption for SBRKY from the mill where most of these dogs were saved.
She is happy with her papa as you can see she is now just as happy and
as pretty as a picture. She was fostered in Ky and in IN. What a sweet girl
in her happy new home!
One of Small Breed Rescue of Kentucky s first adoptions! Isn't she a doll?!
Our LaRue/ Beauty, also a Mill survivor was adopted by Cindy Fuchs and is living
with her loving mama in Chandler IN. Cindy drove to Somerset KY to pick up her
new baby girl and she was so amazed at how small she was. She was instantly
in love with this little girl. She is now enjoying being a Shih Tzu girl in her new
home and surroundings in IN. This is baby Eva's mama.
Cookie was adopted and went to her home in Nicholasville Ky
in late winter/early spring. She is a happy girl who lounges in her
mom's flower bed where it is nice and cool. She is such a feisty
girl who almost always gets her way. She found her forever
home and just seems to rule it as the current Queen of the
house. She has become a real beauty since her fur is growing
out. God bless you Cookie....FM still loves and misses you girl.
It feels so very good to know you have come into your own at
last! Mama Denise has you spoiled so bad...hehehe
Lil' Bug
Lil' Bug went to her forever home in Ohio. She is
blind in one eye due to an injury that was never
treated. She found her forever home in late winter
and we wish her many happy and healthy years with
her new family.
Lacey is a sweet Maltese girl from the mill who was
adopted by her forever mom Sherry Russell and lives
in Gallatin TN. Her mom says she is a wonderful and
very loving, spoiled princess in her new home. She
now has a beautiful white coat and still plays like a
puppy. I'm so glad she will have many years in a
loving home, now free from the slavery of the mills.
Bubo was adopted by Daniel and Debbie Green who
traveled from NC. to pick up this special Maltese boy.
He is growing his coat back and gaining some much
needed weight. This little boy used to beg FM for love..
He now has all he needs from his new mama and papa.
Bubo, you are so missed here in KY! God speed little
man.
Tina, now Pixie was adopted and went to her forever
home with her new mama and papa in Feb of 2005. She
is the Yorkie who had mammary tumors when she was
freed from the mill. The woman who had enslaved her
said when she had her last litter of puppies that her milk
was bloody. This little sweet girl had been headed for
death and instead is now living with her very own loving
family. Patricia, her new mama loves this girl so much.
Pixie took her first tiny steps to trust with her FM but she
learned love from her mama, Patricia. She makes her
home in KY.
